Hi. My name is Hilary, and I am a crochet addict.
Sometime leading up to the 1995 holiday season, I decided I wanted to knit my grandmother a scarf for Christmas. The only problem? I didn't know how to knit. I asked my mother to teach me, and for some reason I don't recall, I ended up crocheting instead. My mother taught me the half double stitch, and I eventually ended up teaching myself other stitches from books. I never did knit my grandma that scarf.
I began designing my own patterns when I was in college. When I completed one, it ended up here, and that's typically how it still goes. I enjoy making them available for free, as that's how I got most of my patterns for a long time. I try to keep them simple and fairly inexpensive to make (I certainly understand not being able to spend lots of money on a project) but unique.
During my crochet downtime, I can usually be found playing a video game, driving my cats crazy with the laser pointer, or listening to an audiobook.
My fiance, who is also a big gamer, recently started his own video game website. If you're a gamer, be sure to check out www.phyberoptikkable.com
Happy crocheting!
