Easy, Quick & Warm Hat



1 skein Red Heart Baby Clouds
M (9.0 mm) hook

Ch 28.

1. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook (2 chs count as first hdc, now and throughout), hdc in each ch across. Ch 2, turn (26 hdc).

2. Working in blo, hdc in each st across. Ch 2, turn (26 hdc).

3. Repeat row 2 until piece measures approx. 19 1/2 inches from beg.

Sc ends tog and gather at the top. FO. Turn right side out and turn up brim.

Get Your Glitz On Santa Hat


Yarn Bee Gilt Eyelash:
1 ball Star Ruby
1 ball Twinkle
Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn Sparkle:
1 skein Red Sparkle
1 skein White Sparkle
Size L (8.0mm) hook

Note: Gilt Eyelash is a hard yarn to see stitches in, even with a strand of worsted weight held together with it. It may be helpful to place a marker at the beginning of ever round for this pattern.

With Star Ruby and Red Sparkle held together, ch 6.

1. Ch 2 (counts as first hdc, now and throughout), 7 hdc in ring. Sl st to first hdc to join (8 hdc).

2. Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join (8 hdc).

3. Ch 2, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each st around, join (16 hdc).

4. Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join (16 hdc).

5. Ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc in next st. (2 hdc in next st, hdc in next st) around, join (24 hdc).

6. Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join (24 hdc).

7-9. Repeat round 6.

10. Ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc in next 2 sts. (2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 2 sts) around, join (32 hdc).

11. Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join (32 hdc).

12-14. Repeat round 11.

15. Ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc in next 3 sts. (2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 3 sts) around, join (40 hdc).

16. Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join (40 hdc).

17-19. Repeat row 16.

20. Ch 2, hdc in same st, hdc in next 4 sts. (2 hdc in next st, hdc in next 4 sts) around, join (48 hdc).

21. Ch 2, hdc in each st around, join (48 hdc).

22-25. Repeat row 21. At end of round 25, join White Sparkle and Twinkle. Cut Red Sparkle and Star Ruby.

26 - 31. Work even. FO and fold up brim.

With White Sparkle and Twinkle, make a pompom and attach it to the end of the hat.

Ski Bunny Hat

Crown

Ch 5, sl st to form ring, ch 1.

1. 6 sc in ring, sl st to first sc to join. Ch 1 (does NOT count as first sc, now and throughout). (6 sc).

2. 2 sc in each st around. Join, ch 1 (12 sc).

3. 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc) around, join. Ch 1 (18 
sc).

4. 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) around, join. Ch 1 (24 sc).

5. 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc) around, join. Ch 1 (30 sc).

6. 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc) around, join. Ch 1 (36 sc).

7. 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 5 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc) around, join. Ch 1 (42 sc).

8. 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 6 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 6 sc) around, join. Ch 1 (48 sc).

9. 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 7 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc) around, join. Ch 1 (54 sc).

12. Work even until piece measures approximately 7 inches from beginning. FO.

Band

Ch 9.
1. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across (8 sc).

2. Ch 1, sc in blo of each sc across.

3 – 65. Repeat row 2.

66. Sc first and last rows together. FO.

Sew or sl st band to flo of last row of crown. The easiest way to do this is to put the band on the outside of the hat. The hat will seem to bunch at first, but that’s okay. It’ll even out. FO.

Earflaps

1. Join yarn to blo of any stitch on last row of crown. Sc in same stitch and next 10 sts across. Ch 1, turn (11 sc).

2 – 9. Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (11 sc).

10.  2 sc tog, sc in next 7 sc, sc last 2 sc tog, ch 1, turn (9 sc).

11. Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn (9 sc).

12. Sc first 2 sc tog, sc in next 5 sts, sc last 2 sc tog, ch 1, turn (7 sc).

13. Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn (7 sc).

14. Sc first 2 sc tog, sc in next 3 sts, sc last 2 sc tog, ch 1, turn (5 sc).

15. Sc in each sc across, FO (5 sc).

Skip 24 sts, join yarn in next st. Repeat rows 1 -15 of first earflap. FO, weave in ends.

3. Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next sc. (2sc in next sc, sc in next sc) around, join (18 sc).

4. Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) around, join (24 sc).

5. Ch1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 3 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc) around, join (30 sc).

6. Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 4 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc) around, join (36 sc).

7. Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 5 sc. (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc) around, join (42 sc).

9. Sc first 2 sc tog, sc in next 6 sc, sc last 2 sc tog. Ch 1, turn (8 sc).

10. Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn (8 sc).

11. Sc first 2 sc tog, sc in next 4 sc, sc last 2 sc tog. Ch 1, turn (6 sc).

12. Sc first 2 sc tog, sc in next 2 sc, sc last 2 sc tog. FO (4 sc).

Skip 13 sc. With right side facing, join yarn to next sc. Repeat ear flap rows 1 - 12.

Funky Chunky Earflap Hat


2 balls Jiffy Thick ‘N Quick
M (9.0) hook

Ch 5, sl st in first ch to form ring.

1. Ch 1 (counts as first sc until otherwise noted), 5 sc in ring, sl st to join to first sc (6 sc).

2. Ch 1, sc in same st, 2 sc in each st around, join (12 sc).

3. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next st. *2 sc in next st, sc in next st. Repeat from * around, join (18 sc).

4. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts. Repeat from * around, join (24 sc).

5. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 3 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts. Repeat from * around, join (30 sc).

6. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 4 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts. Repeat from * around, join (36 sc).

7. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 5 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts. Repeat from * around, join (42 sc).

8. Ch 1, sc in each sc around, join (42 sc).

Repeat row 8 until hat measures 7 inches from crown to brim. Do not finish off.

Earflaps
1. Ch 1, sc in next 9 sc.

2-4. Ch 1 (no longer counts as first sc, now and throughout), sc across (9 sc).

5. Ch 1, 2 sc tog, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc tog (7 sc).

6. Ch 1, sc across (7 sc).

7. Ch 1, 2 sc tog, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc tog (5 sc).

8. Ch 1, 2 sc tog, sc in next st, 2 sc tog (3 sc). FO.


Skip 13 sc, join yarn in next st. Sc in same st and next 8 sts.
Repeat rows 2 - 8 of ear flap, FO, weave in ends.

Cut 6 48-inch strands of yarn. Pull 2 strands halfway through each of three sts on bottom of earflap and braid together, finishing in a knot at the end. Repeat for other earflap.

1 ball Bernat Soft Boucle (scraps will work, Boucle is used only for trim)
J (6.0) and I (5.5) hooks





Crown

With Lion Suede and J hook, ch 4, sl st to form ring.

1. Ch 1 (counts as first sc now and throughout), 5 sc in ring, join with sl st to first sc. (6 sc)

2. Ch 1, sc in same st, 2 sc in each st around, join. (12 sc)

3. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next sts. *2 sc in next sc, sc in next st. Repeat from * around, join. (18 sc)

4. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts. Repeat from * around, join. (24 sc)

5. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 3 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts. Repeat from * around, join. (30 sc)

6. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 4 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts. Repeat from * around, join. (36 sc)

7. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 5 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts. Repeat from * around, join. (42 sc)

8. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 6 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts. Repeat from * around, join. (48 sc)

9. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 7 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 7 sts. Repeat from * around, join. (54 sc)

10. Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 8 sts. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 8 sts. Repeat from * around, join. (60 sc).

Work even until piece measures 7 inches from crown to base, sl st in last sc. Do not finish off.

Ear Flaps

Ch 1, turn.

1. Sc in next 12 sc, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)

2, 3. Sc across, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)

4. 2 sc tog, sc in next 10 sc, ch 1, turn. (11 sc)

5. Sc across, ch 1, turn. (11 sc)

6. 2 sc tog, sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc tog. Ch 1, turn. (9 sc)

7. Sc across, ch 1, turn. (9 sc)

8. 2 sc tog, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc tog. Ch 1, turn. (7 sc)

9. Sc across, ch 1, turn. (7 sc)

10. 2 sc tog, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc tog. FO. (5 sc)


Skip 21 sts on brim of hat, join yarn, ch 1.

Repeat rows 1-10 of ear flap. This ear flap should line up with the other when the hat is folded in half. FO.

With I hook, join boucle to any stitch on brim.

(2 sc in each st until ear flap, 18 sc evenly along side of ear flap. 2 sc in each st across, 18 sc evenly on the other side of the ear flap.) Repeat around, join, FO.

Checker Bodecker Hat

Materials: 2 colors Lion Brand Homespun
I (5.5 mm) hook

Abbreviations: CA = Color A (blue)
CB = Color B (purple)


You should be comfortable changing colors several times in one row in order to work this pattern.





1. With CA, ch 4. 11 dc in first ch, join. (12 dc).

2. Ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around (24 dc).

3. Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next dc. *2 dc in next st, dc in next st. Repeat from * around (36 dc).

4. Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 2 dc. *2 dc in next st, dc in next 2 st. Repeat from * around. (48 dc).

5. Ch 3, dc in each st around (from now on, each round should have 48 dc).

6-11. Repeat row 5.

12. Ch 3, dc in next 2 dc. Join CB. Dc in next 3 st, switch to CA. Dc in next 3 st. Alternate 3 sts CB, 3 sts CA around.

13. Starting with CA, repeat row 12.

14, 15. Starting with CB, repeat row 12. Finish off.

Checkerboard Hat

Materials:
2 colors Lion Brand Homespun
J (6.00 mm) hk

CA = Color A (Candy Apple in example)
CB = Color B (Harvest in example)
This photo came out pretty dark; the colors are really much more vibrant.

You should be comfortable changing colors several times per row to work this pattern. Do not work over unused strand; instead, carry it behind your work, picking it up when needed.



1. Ch 4, 11 dc in first ch (12 dc).

2. Ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), dc in same st. 2 dc in each st around, join. (24 dc).

3. Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next st. *2 dc in next st, dc in next st. Rep from * around, join. (36 dc).

4. Ch 3, dc in same st, dc in next 2 st. *2 dc in next st, dc in next 2 st. Rep from * around, join. (48 dc, now and throughout).

5. Ch 3, dc in next 3 dc. *With CB, dc in next 4 st. With CA, dc in next 4 st. Rep from * around, ending with 4 dc in CB.

6. Starting with CA, repeat row 5.

7, 8. Starting with CB, repeat row 5. The checkerboard pattern will now start to appear.

9-14. Repeat rows 5-8. Finish off CB.

15. Working over cut end of CB: ch 1, sc in each stitch around. FO.

Autumn Leaves Hat (Ladies)

Materials:
2 colors Lion Brand Homespun
I (5.5 mm) hook

CA = Color A (Candy Apple in example)
CB = Color B (Harvest in example)

You should be comfortable changing colors several times in a row to work this pattern. Carry unused color along wrong side of work, rather than crocheting over it.



1. With CA, ch 4, 11 dc in first ch, join (12 dc).

2. Ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), dc in same st. 2 dc in each st around, join (24 dc).

3. Ch 3, dc in same st. Dc in next st, join CB. *With CB, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st. With CA, 2 dc in next st, dc in next st. Rep from * around, join (36 dc).

4. With CB, ch 1 (does NOT count as first sc). 2 sc in same st, sc in next 2 st. *2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st. Rep from * around, join (48 sc. You should have 48 stitches at the end of each round from now on.)

5. With CA, ch 3, dc in each st around join.

6. With CB, ch 1, sc in first st and each st around, join.

7. With CA, ch 3, dc in each st around, join

8. With CA, ch 3, dc in net 2 dc. *With CB, dc in next 3 st. With CA, dc in next 3 st. Rep from * around, join.
